The Society of Professional Physical Planners of Uganda was established under Section 19 of the Physical Planners Registration Act, 2022, an Act of Parliament of Uganda. This Society is recognized as a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal, enabling it to sue and be sued in its corporate name.

Additionally, the Society provides resources and supports initiatives for physical planners, facilitates communication among members, and strengthens bonds of fellowship, professional collaboration, and engagement within the planning community. It connects physical planners with mentors or advisors who can offer guidance, advice, and feedback on both personal and professional goals, helping them expand their network, explore new opportunities, and navigate challenges within the planning profession. By leveraging the expertise, talents, and initiatives of its members, the Society advocates for physical planning and fosters collaboration in broader planning efforts across Uganda.

The Council leverages the resources, talents, and initiatives of its members and partners to advise, guide, advocate for, and support the Society and the profession of physical planning.
